Sapphire, known for its graphics cards, has entered the mini-PC market with the Edge AI series, aimed at tasks related to artificial intelligence. This is the brand's first step into the compact PC segment, and it turned out to be quite ambitious.

What is known

The mini-PCs from Sapphire are housed in compact cases — 117 × 111 × 30 mm, yet they provide maximum computing power. At the core of Edge AI are the latest AMD Ryzen AI 300 hybrid processors, including models:

  • Ryzen AI 5 340
  • Ryzen AI 7 350
  • Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 — 12-core flagship with NPU performance up to 50 TOPS.

These chips combine Zen 5 cores, integrated Radeon 800M/890M graphics, and a neural processor, enabling Edge AI to meet the requirements of Copilot+ PC — a new PC standard with local AI processing.

Edge AI features 2.5G Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and an excellent set of ports:

  • 2× HDMI
  • 3× USB 3.2 Gen 2
  • 2× USB4
  • 1× USB 2.0
  • RJ45.

PCs come as barebone platforms — without RAM and storage, giving users the flexibility to create an optimal configuration for themselves. The case is designed in an elegant black and gold style with a magnetic lid for quick access to components for upgrades.

Users can equip the PC with up to 96 GB of DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM and use two slots for SSD storage (M.2 PCIe 4.0).

The manufacturer paid significant attention to the cooling system: thanks to the ventilation holes at the bottom and sides, the mini-PC remains constantly cool and stable even under the heaviest loads.

Edge AI is positioned as a versatile solution for AI development and training, media content creation, data array processing, and standard office tasks.

Sapphire Edge AI is expected to be on sale soon, prices have not yet been announced.
