Bloomberg: In honor of its 50th anniversary, Apple is preparing an anniversary update for the MacBook Air, iPad, and iPhone and will introduce an intelligent Siri based on Gemini
In 2026, Apple celebrates its 50th anniversary, and in honor of this event, as Bloomberg claims, is preparing a major update of its gadgets.
What is known
In the latest issue of the weekly news digest Power On, Bloomberg's reputable insider and journalist Mark Gurman reported that in honor of the anniversary, Apple will introduce several major new products that will not only have improved features and possibly an updated design but will also launch a new company strategy in the field of artificial intelligence.
Gurman knows that in the first half of 2026, Apple will introduce the MacBook Air with an M5 chip, iPad Air with an M4 processor and iPhone 17e, which will continue the line of affordable models.
It is important that during this same period, Apple will finally release a new device for smart home control, which will come in two versions: in the form of a speaker and a small touchscreen display.
In addition, the American company will fulfill a long-standing promise and launch a full-fledged AI version of Siri, which, unexpectedly, will be based on Google Gemini.
Recall that earlier Gurman reported that at the end of 2026, Apple may show the first MacBook Pro with an OLED display and an M6 chip, and the company will switch to OLED panels for the iPad mini, iPad Air, and MacBook Air.
