SoftBank and OpenAI announced the creation of a joint venture SB OAI Japan. The purpose of this partnership is the development and promotion of corporate artificial intelligence solutions tailored to the needs of Japanese companies. The first client will be SoftBank itself.

What is known

SB OAI Japan will be owned equally by SoftBank and OpenAI (50/50). The enterprise will offer a solution called Crystal Intelligence - a "package corporate solution based on artificial intelligence" aimed at supporting management processes and operations of companies in Japan.

Crystal Intelligence combines OpenAI's corporate services with localized support from SB OAI Japan and aims to increase productivity and management efficiency using artificial intelligence tools.

SoftBank reported that all its employees are already using AI in their daily work, and the company has created 2.5 million individual ChatGPT instances for internal use.

As part of the partnership, SoftBank will use SB OAI Japan solutions in its own business units, testing their effectiveness in product development and process optimization. In the future, the acquired developments and experience will be transferred to other companies through SB OAI Japan.

The agreement is related to investments in artificial intelligence and technology development for its application.
