Great results from a great game: Red Dead Redemption 2 becomes the fourth best-selling game in industry history
The analysis of important information from Take-Two Interactive's financial report continues. We already know about the postponement of the GTA VI release and plans for the continuation of the Mafia franchise. However, analysts found another interesting fact in the dry numbers, this time about Red Dead Redemption 2.
What is known
In its report, Take-Two declared that sales of RDR 2 exceeded 79 million copies, with an additional 2 million sold in the last quarter (the game was released in 2018).
Thus, the dramatic and incredibly immersive western has become the fourth best-selling game in industry history. The total sales of both RDR parts amount to 106 million copies.

- GTA V — 220 million
- Wii Sports — 82.9 million
- Red Dead Redemption 2 — 79 million
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe — 78 million.
Recently, there have been active rumors about porting RDR2 to Nintendo Switch 2 and about releasing native versions for PS5 and Xbox Series. Undoubtedly, these editions will be released, significantly increasing the game's sales and definitely placing it among the top three leaders.
