Chinese company Ayaneo continues to amaze with announcements of incredibly stylish and pretentious gaming gadgets.

In recent days, the manufacturer has presented its first "truly gamer" smartphone, a premium retro console Pocket Vert in Game Boy form factor, and a concept mini-PC designed like a classic CD player.

Now the public has been shown the flagship portable console NEXT 2, which will be Ayaneo's first Windows device — previously only Android was used.

What is Known

Ayaneo NEXT 2 is created with a clear aim to compete with leaders in the portable console market — Steam Deck, Lenovo, Legion Go, and ROG Xbox Ally. And judging by the declared specifications, the Chinese newcomer may prove to be excellent.

Ayaneo NEXT 2 will receive the latest hybrid AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, built on the Zen 5 architecture with 16 cores, 32 threads, and a clock speed of up to 5.1 GHz. Built-in Radeon 8060S graphics based on RDNA 3.5 will deliver performance comparable to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, which is an incredible achievement for a portable gadget.

The battery capacity is not disclosed yet, but it is stated to be "large". Ayaneo also promises a powerful cooling system with two fans, which will prevent the console from overheating.

Details about the display are also absent, but it is promised to be "top-notch".

For control, an exclusive TMR joystick, linear Hall effect triggers, a floating 8-directional D-pad, and dual smart touchpads are provided.

It is expected that the NEXT 2 will become a powerful platform for AAA games in a portable format, offering users desktop PC performance in a compact package.

The AYANEO company has not yet announced the exact release date of the NEXT 2 console.
