CD Projekt RED does not hide its ambitions and states that it aims to make The Witcher 4 the most groundbreaking and complex open-world RPG. And this may well be true, as close collaboration with Epic Games will help with the technical aspect, while the narrative will be handled by a person whose work has impressed millions of gamers.

What is known

Karel Kolmann, the narrative designer of both parts of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, announced that after many years of fruitful work at Warhorse Studios, he had moved to CD Projekt RED and has been working as a senior quest designer on The Witcher 4 for a month now.

It is the engaging quests that make any RPG thrilling, but the Polish studio traditionally pays incredible attention to this aspect, and the "acquisition" of Karel Kolmann will undoubtedly strengthen the team of talented writers and take the iconic franchise to a new level.

Kolmann wished his former colleagues good luck and asked them "not to change".

Gamers welcomed the news of Karel Kolmann's transition to CD Projekt with enthusiasm, as almost every quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a work of art, full of drama, comedy, and unexpected twists, and their variability makes each playthrough unique. However, it is also a pity for the Warhorse Studios team, which lost a great specialist.

The release of The Witcher 4 is expected no earlier than 2027.
