Toyota has officially unveiled the ninth-generation Hilux pickup. The pickup is available in diesel, petrol, hybrid, and fully electric versions.

What is known

The design of the model is in the "tough-agile" style, which combines massive features with elements of the new Land Cruiser. All versions are equipped with a Double Cab, a digital instrument panel, and standard all-wheel drive. The updated Toyota T-Mate safety system package and enhanced digital services are provided. The power steering of the model, depending on the version, can be electric or hydraulic.

For Western European markets, the main focus is on the electric version and the hybrid. For Eastern Europe, Toyota maintained modifications with internal combustion engines without hybrid additions.

Instead of the 2.4-liter turbodiesel, a 2.8-liter engine will appear. An alternative will be a 2.7-liter petrol engine.

The Hilux Hybrid 48V will go on sale in the spring of 2026. Its payload will be up to 1000 kg, and the maximum trailer weight - 3.5 tons. The hybrid system is placed so as not to affect the interior space or off-road capabilities.

The fully electric Hilux BEV features a 59.2 kWh battery that provides a range of up to 240 km according to the WLTP cycle. The payload reaches 715 kg, and the maximum trailer weight is 1.6 tons. The vehicle maintains off-road capabilities similar to ICE versions, and the adaptive Multi-Terrain Select system is available.

The launch of the new Toyota Hilux is scheduled for December 2025. The fully electric version will be available first.
