Google Photos integrates the Nano Banana AI model: now you can edit photos using simple commands
Google Photos service receives a major update, including the integration of the Nano Banana artificial intelligence model. Previously, this technology was limited in access and was mainly used on Pixel devices or among beta testers. Now its features are expanding and becoming available to a wider audience on Android and iOS.
What is known
The main change is the introduction of the "Help me edit" function. It allows you to edit photos using simple text commands, such as "make a smile" or "turn the photo into a Renaissance portrait". Nano Banana maintains the recognizability of faces and animals, even with significant image changes, making editing simpler and more accessible.
A "Create with AI" section has also appeared, initially available to Android users in the US and India. It offers templates for instantly creating creative images: from festive cards to business portraits without the need to write complex queries. In the future, Google will add personalized templates considering your gallery.
Additionally, the "Ask Photos" function is now available in more than 100 countries and supports 17 languages. You can ask questions about your photos through Gemini. It allows you to search or get information about photos in your gallery using text queries. For convenience, a separate "Ask" button has been added to the image viewing window on Android and iOS in the US. This update allows users to immediately ask questions or send editing requests.
