You can now gift games in EGS: the store has launched a sought-after option

Epic Games Store has finally launched another option that has long been in demand in other stores — the ability to gift games.

What is known

Now the EGS app on PC and the browser version feature a “Gift Purchase” button, which also works for special editions and add-ons. After selecting this option, you need to specify the game recipient from the friends list, the delivery time (which can be either delayed or immediate) and pay for the item.

As in Steam, the user will receive a notification of gift receipt and a “Accept” button will appear, which is active for two weeks. If the gift is not accepted — the money will be returned to the giver’s account.

For security purposes, you can only send gifts to users who you have added as friends at least two days ago. You cannot gift free games, pre-orders, subscriptions, currency, and other consumable items.

When paying for a gift using the Epic payment system, bonuses will accumulate, which can be spent on a future purchase.
