Two versions of Toyota RAV4 for China received larger displays
Toyota introduced two localized versions of the updated RAV4 crossover in China: joint production with FAW and GAC. Both models are adapted for the Chinese market, have original configurations, power units, and prices lower than global ones.
What's known
The GAC's Toyota Wildlander copies the design features of the international RAV4. Meanwhile, the FAW-Toyota RAV4 has a more aggressive appearance, borrowed from the Woodland and Adventure trim levels, except for the roof rails.
Both models are equipped with 18- or 20-inch alloy wheels. The bumpers differ slightly, leading to a small variation in overall length. The Wildlander is 4600 mm long, while the RAV4 is 4620 mm.
FAW-Toyota RAV4:
Inside, the main difference from the global models is the technical content. A 15.6-inch touchscreen with Chinese software is installed in the center. There is an 8.8-inch display of the instrument panel in front of the driver and an optional 26.4-inch projection display.
For comparison, global versions are equipped with screens with a diagonal of 10.5 or 12.9 inches and a larger 12.3-inch instrument panel.
GAC-Toyota RAV4 Wildlander:
The choice of power units begins with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with an output of 171 hp. Two self-charging hybrids are also available: a 2.0-liter with an output of 196 hp and a 2.5-liter all-wheel drive E-Four with an output of 239 hp. A plug-in hybrid is not yet provided, but this may change in the future.
The GAC-Toyota Wildlander costs from 169,800 to 230,800 yuan, depending on the configuration and power unit. This is equivalent to roughly 23,900-32,500 USD or 20,690-27,960 euros. Cheaper than in America and Europe.
