Apple changes iOS update strategy: focus on artificial intelligence and a smarter Siri instead of visual changes
Apple is changing its approach to major iOS updates. Instead of loud innovations in iOS 27, the company plans to focus on stability, performance, and improving AI functions. Insider Mark Gurman reported this in his weekly Power On issue.
What is known
According to the insider, Apple engineers are already analyzing operating systems for excessive code, bugs, and potential optimizations. This resembles the strategy with the release of Mac OS X Snow Leopard in 2009, where the main focus was on quality and speed.
The company pays special attention to AI. Following the launch of Apple Intelligence last year, Apple is working on an updated interface for a smarter Siri, a new internet search tool, and AI integration into other applications. The new version of Siri is expected to appear before iOS 27, likely in the spring update of iOS 26.4.
