Sharp has announced a new line of Aquos JP7000 TVs, which is entering the European market and is positioned as an affordable option for setting up a home theater.

What is known

The series models are available in 50, 55, 65 and 75-inch diagonals and offer 4K UHD resolution (3840×2160 pixels) with a frame rate of 60 Hz. The Sharp Aquos Smooth Motion feature reduces blur and maintains clarity in fast-moving scenes, compensating for the low refresh rate.

At the core is MiniLED backlighting with local dimming providing deep contrast and high brightness, along with a QLED layer with quantum dots extending the color gamut to DCI-P3 and BT.2020 standards.

The TVs support modern HDR formats, including Dolby Vision and HDR10, with sound provided by a 12W Harman/Kardon acoustic system supporting Dolby Atmos. Interfaces include HDMI 2.1 with eARC, USB, Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz), and Bluetooth. Control is through Google TV, providing access to popular streaming services and apps.

Sales of Sharp Aquos JP7000 TVs will begin at the end of November. Prices start at €700 for the 50” model. Larger versions will be more expensive, but exact figures are not yet disclosed.
