Audi and Disney announced a partnership that will allow drivers and passengers to enjoy streaming service content directly in the car thanks to streaming technology.

What is known

The German automaker has integrated the Disney+ app into its car lineup, taking another step in expanding onboard entertainment services. Drivers can install the app directly through the Audi Application Store in the car and log in using an existing Disney+ account.

Users will have access to films from the Star Wars, Pixar, and Marvel universes, classic Disney films, and new movie releases, including the Tron series. Content can be streamed on the central MMI multimedia system display if the car is stationary or on the optional passenger screen while driving.

The app launches simultaneously in 43 countries: in many European countries, parts of Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the USA. The service is available through the Audi Application Store in new Audi A5, Q5, A6, A6 e-tron, and Q6 e-tron models.

The Audi Application Store, developed jointly with technology company CARIAD, is integrated directly into the MMI multimedia system and does not require a smartphone connection. A myAudi account and active internet connection are required for use.
