At the Guangzhou Auto Show 2025, Xiaomi presented a customized version of the YU7 Max crossover in Crystal Purple, fulfilling the promise to launch a car custom painting service.

What is known

Xiaomi promises to offer 100 unique colors over three years. The cost of special painting starts from 11,000 yuan (about 1,540 USD). The Crystal Purple coating is applied to the body using premium paint and advanced technologies.

Customers can also choose customized alloy wheels, painted Brembo brake calipers, and exclusive emblems finished in 24-carat gold, black or white ceramic, or carbon with a gold overlay.

Technical specifications

The YU7 is available in rear-wheel (2WD) and all-wheel drive (4WD) versions based on 800-volt architecture:

  • 2WD version: single motor setup with 235 kW power and 528 Nm of torque, acceleration from 0–100 km/h in 5.88 s. A lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 96.3 kWh provides a range of 835 km in the CLTC cycle.
  • 4WD versions are available in two dual-motor configurations — 365 kW / 690 Nm (acceleration in 4.27 s) with a 96.3 kWh LFP battery for 770 km range, or 508 kW / 866 Nm (acceleration in 3.23 s) with a 101.7 kWh lithium battery for 760 km.

All-wheel-drive models feature air suspension with five height adjustments and a maximum ground clearance of 222 mm. Top versions support fast charging: from 10% to 80% in 12 minutes.

Security system upgrade

In addition to launching the customization program, Xiaomi introduced an enhanced version of the Xiaomi HAD Enhanced driver assistance system and updates to active safety features. Updates will be distributed via OTA update of the Xiaomi HyperOS 1.11 operating system for the entire model range.

Key innovations include an automatic emergency braking system at low speeds for forward and reverse driving (LAEB/RAEB), operating at speeds up to 10 km/h forward and up to 30 km/h reverse. The system recognizes pedestrians, cars, and two-wheeled vehicles, automatically intervening in control when a collision risk is detected if the driver does not take action.
