Sony intrigued photography fans with a teaser of the new camera. An image with the slogan "Chase your dream" and the date December 2 at 9:00 AM Eastern Time appeared on the Sony Alpha page on Instagram. A Roman numeral 'V' is noticeable in the background, which may indicate the upcoming Sony Alpha 7 V, a successor to the α7 IV.

What is known

Although the company does not disclose details, insiders suggest that it is indeed about a new mirrorless camera with flagship capabilities in the mid-price segment. The Alpha 7 V may receive a new 33-megapixel partially stacked sensor developed by Sony, as well as 4K video support at 60 frames per second.

It is expected that along with the camera, Sony will introduce at least two new lenses. Considering that the previous α7 IV model started at $2500, the updated version is likely to be even more expensive.

The official announcement is scheduled for December 2, so very soon users will find out if the rumors come true.
