MASK Architects unveiled the SOLARIS motorcycle with solar panel charging
MASK Architects studio introduced the concept of the SOLARIS motorcycle with retractable photovoltaic wings. The authors of the project suggested that these solar panels would provide complete independence from the charging infrastructure.
What's known
The wings unfold during the vehicle's downtime. The energy is stored in a lithium battery, allowing the motorcycle to operate completely autonomously. SOLARIS is powered by an electric motor with a regenerative braking system that returns some of the energy to the battery during deceleration. The rider can view performance and charging data on a digital instrument panel or via a mobile app.
The athletic silhouette of the motorcycle is inspired by the proportions and movements of a leopard. The influence of the predatory animal is manifested in the elongated front part and slim frame. The latter is made of aluminum and carbon elements to reduce weight while maintaining structural stiffness.
MASK Architects studio describes the project as an attempt to rethink global mobility by offering a future where vehicles operate independently of traditional energy systems and generate energy from renewable sources.
