Zombie-action Dying Light: The Beast received the largest update with 'New Game+' mode, ray tracing on PC, and various bug fixes
The Polish studio Techland has released a major 1.4 update for Dying Light: The Beast, which adds important technical innovations and gameplay improvements to the zombie-action game.
What is Known
The main highlight of the update is the 'New Game+' mode, which allows you to start a replay with the equipment and developed character abilities already acquired.
In this mode, the difficulty increases, and enemies become even more aggressive, but the rewards for completing tasks and items hidden in caches have enhanced features and values.
Gamers can start 'New Game+' several times, and its modifiers will multiply each time.
The Beast also added the familiar 'Legend' skill tree to the Dying Light series, which unlocks at character level 15 and allows the development of passive skills, such as increasing health and unlocking more rewards.
The PC version of the action game features full ray tracing, making lighting, shadows, and reflections more realistic. To enable this option, you need to select the ultra-graphics quality preset. Gamers can adjust individual ray tracing parameters, and on ultra settings, additional frame generation is automatically activated.
Developers have also added three new zombie finishers for one-handed, two-handed bludgeoning, and two-handed slashing weapons.
Techland has fixed over 70 bugs in Dying Light: The Beast related to graphics and more than 200 bugs occurring during movement.
Everyone who enters the game before December 2 will receive a bonus knife, and as part of the new community challenge called Executioner, gamers are proposed to perform 1 million finishers and later another 2.5 million to receive rewards.
The complete list of changes and innovations can be found on the game page.
