HMD doesn’t stop at Nokia: after reviving the legendary brand, the company will try its hand in the laptop market
The Finnish company HMD Global is expanding its presence in the gadget market. Recall that in 2016 it revived Nokia by releasing a number of smartphone and feature phone models, but later they began to be released under the HMD brand.
Now it is known that this manufacturer plans to try its hand at the laptop segment.
What is known
Information about the first laptop from HMD Global was shared by insider smashx_60.
According to his information, it will be a device called HMD (Chrome)Book CS-1 Flip or HMD Book CS-1 Flip. Most likely, the operating system will use the new hybrid of Android and ChromeOS, which Google is currently working on, and the word “Flip” may indicate a hinge design that allows the laptop to open 360 degrees. Often such models receive a touchscreen.
smashx_60 mentioned that the HMD (Chrome)Book CS-1 Flip laptop will receive a processor from Intel, which is unusual, since many modern Chromebook line devices run on ARM chips.
