Frank West will return in the new game — an authoritative publication reported on the development of Dead Rising 5
Publisher Capcom is actively developing a new part of the famous zombie-action series Dead Rising — this was reported by the authoritative publication MP1st.
What is known
According to insider information, the game under the code name Rec has been in development since at least 2023, and its main character will once again be photojournalist Frank West — the protagonist of the original game.
In terms of the plot, Dead Rising 5 will likely be a direct continuation of the first part of the series, and the events will unfold in Hollywood at a closed film studio, where a crazy director forces survivors of the zombie apocalypse to engage in brutal battles to shoot horrific films.
The antagonist will have an entourage of psychopaths recording everything happening, and his first assistant will have a bomb implanted in his hand, possibly for control.
Among the main characters will be biologist Isabela Keyes, who will provide Frank West with information about a new strain of the zombie virus.
Players will once again be able to use Frank's camera to gain additional points, and the time-limit system and the need to rescue survivors will return.
Well, after the report from MP1st, it becomes clear why Capcom in 2024 released the second remaster of the cult game from 2006 — surely to introduce the modern audience to Frank West before the release of Dead Rising 5.
When to expect
The release of Dead Rising 5 should not be expected before 2028, and a remaster of Dead Rising 2 may be released before it.
