Huawei released a cute AI companion Smart Hanhan, which supports dialogue and responds to touch

AI toys are rapidly gaining popularity, especially in the Asian market, and Huawei is joining this trend by announcing Smart Hanhan - a pocket virtual companion.

Huawei positions the novelty as a new class of devices that combines artificial intelligence technologies and emotional interaction with the user. Unlike traditional smart speakers or robots, Smart Hanhan is focused on mobility and personalization.

The gadget is compact sized - 80×82×68 mm, weighs only 140 grams and is equipped with an 1800 mAh battery. Smart Hanhan is designed as a soft toy using silicone and plastic, and is offered in three colors. In active communication mode, it works up to 8 hours, and with moderate use - about two days. Smart Hanhan can be carried with you, attached to a backpack, or used as a desktop accessory.

The novelty runs on HarmonyOS 5.0 and uses Huawei Xiaoyi AI proprietary language model. Smart Hanhan responds to voice commands, understands user mood, conversation context and intonations, reacts to touches, and expresses emotions through its screen eyes. The device can function as an entertainment and educational assistant.

The device price is about $56 (converted from yuan), but some features are available by subscription.
