More and more details of the unannounced Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake, which according to data miners will be subtitled Resynced, are appearing online.

What is known

While Ubisoft remains completely silent, insider j0nathan, who has repeatedly proved his awareness of the plans of the French company, shared a new batch of information.

He reported that the Black Flag remake will feature gameplay elements related to weather effects — they were directly taken from Assassin’s Creed Shadows, where they performed well.

Overall, this is not surprising, since, as we know from other leaks, the updated version of Black Flag is being created on the most current version of the Anvil engine, which was also used in Shadows.

Also, j0nathan knows that in the remake of the 2013 pirate action game, developers will implement an improved map, making it more detailed and updating the main menu. More additional quests will appear on the map, confirming rumors about new content.

Previously reported that the main plot of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be expanded in the remake, more RPG elements will appear in the gameplay, the transition between sea and land will become seamless and will not be accompanied by a loading screen, while the size of the open world will remain the same, although more additional activities will appear in certain locations.

In addition, Ubisoft will completely remove all episodes that took place in the present day in Abstergo’s offices. Most gamers consider them boring, consisting of wandering through workspaces, solving simple puzzles, and searching for pasted barcodes. Moreover, since Black Flag, many parts of Assassin’s Creed have been released and their global plot has changed so much that the presence of such elements in the remake will be irrelevant and contradictory.

When to expect

According to rumors, the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake may be released at the end of March 2026.
