The presentation of the rugged smartphone Nubia S2 took place in Japan.

What's known

Nubia S2 features a 6.7” TFT display with FHD+ resolution (2400×1080 pixels), 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage with the possibility to expand the storage via microSD up to 1 TB.

The device operates on a Unisoc T8100 processor. The main camera features a 50 MP sensor and an additional ultrawide module of 5 MP, while the front camera is 16 MP.

The 5100 mAh battery provides up to a day of active use and fully charges in about an hour. With a body thickness of just 8 mm, the smartphone is highly protected: IP65, IP68, and IP69 standards ensure resistance to water and dust, and compliance with the military standard MIL‑STD‑810H confirms shock resistance.

Additionally, NFC, Bluetooth 5, Wi‑Fi 5, support for 5G through nano-SIM and eSIM, a 3.5mm jack, a fingerprint scanner, and facial recognition are provided.

The cost of Nubia S2 has not yet been disclosed, but it is unlikely to be expensive.
