Publisher Sega and the British studio Creative Assembly held a celebratory stream dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the popular and incredibly diverse Total War strategy franchise, where they made several important announcements.

What is known

The main event of the broadcast was the announcement of the development of Medieval III - the new installment in one of the most successful and beloved Total War sub-series by gamers.

The developer did not reveal details of the game, restricting itself to showcasing an atmospheric teaser and stating that the game is in the early stages of production. However, it is claimed to be a large-scale and ambitious strategy that will allow gamers to recreate key battles of Medieval Europe and even rewrite the course of historical events.

Thanks to the updated Warcore engine, Total War: Medieval III will be the franchise's first game to be released not only on PC but also on PlayStation and Xbox.

The developers launched a special blog on their website, where they will share information about Total War: Medieval III.

In addition, Creative Assembly teased with the mention of another new Total War game that will be announced at The Game Awards 2025.

Although we are not ready yet to present the project in all its glory, it can already be said that it is one of the most ambitious games we have ever worked on in the studio, and we are eager to share it with you. After The Game Awards 2025, we will eagerly look forward to sharing additional information with you.
