Studio Liquid Swords, founded by former Avalanche Studios head and author of Just Cause and Mad Max Christofer Sundberg, has unveiled its debut game - the crime action Samson: A Tyndalston Story, which may especially appeal to GTA fans.

What is known

It seems that the game designer does not want to part with open-world games focused on brutal car chases - these aspects form the gameplay of Samson.

The events of the game will unfold in the fictional city of Tyndalston, which the main character described as "the world's backside." Criminal loser Samson McCray, who tried to leave his criminal past behind, but ultimately was drawn into a whirlwind of tragic events, will find himself hunted by both criminals and the police, and on top of that, he has a large debt, which grows by the day.

The player's actions can either help Samson deal with the situation or exacerbate his problems even more.

Your debt defines everything. It grows every day. Your next step decides whether you stay afloat or collapse under its weight. Every job depletes the limited daily supply of action points. Every choice forces you to sacrifice something. Fights are tough and grounded. Violence is a tool. Tyndalston remembers your decisions. Faces, factions, and streets change in response to your actions. Nothing is forgotten or forgiven. You can't just start over here.

Christopher Sundberg explained the idea of the hero "on the counter" as an allusion to the work of game studios, which each day take more money and effort, and the result may not always justify the efforts.

In addition to the brutal car chases, Samson: A Tyndalston Story will also feature fistfights, but little is currently known about them.

The game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5, and its release is planned for early 2026 exclusively on PC. The novelty will be sold at the price of just $24.99.
