Google and Apple Simplify Switching Between Android and iOS
Google and Apple have joined forces to improve the transition process between mobile platforms. In the latest Canary test build, a new feature was noticed that aims to simplify data transfer between Android and iOS during the initial setup of a device.
What is Known
It is expected that a similar feature will appear in the future beta version of iOS 26 for developers. A Google representative confirmed the report's accuracy to 9to5Google but did not provide additional details about the data transfer mechanism.
Currently, both companies have separate Switch to Android and Switch to iOS apps, but integrating such functionality at the operating system level, along with support for transferring more types of data, could greatly facilitate platform switching. At the same time, it should be noted that Canary versions are early builds, so the final functionality may still change by the time of release.
