Remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Confirmed — PEGI Agency Reveals Ubisoft's Secret
The question of whether Ubisoft is developing a remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag can be considered closed. After a huge amount of leaks, hints, and insights, information has emerged online that leaves no doubt that the famous pirate action game of 2013 will soon receive an updated version.
What is known
An age rating for the Black Flag remake with the subtitle Resynced has been found on the European classification agency PEGI's website, confirming information previously announced by dataminers (the page has already been removed, but the screenshot remains).
Like the original game, Resynced is recommended exclusively for persons aged 18 and over. Such ratings are usually issued shortly before the announcement and release of the game, so there is no doubt that the Black Flag remake will be presented at the grand show The Game Awards 2025, which will take place on the night of December 12.
For those who are not aware
It was previously reported that the main story of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag will be expanded in the remake, more RPG elements will be added to the gameplay, movement between sea and land will become seamless and will not be accompanied by a loading screen, but the size of the open world will remain the same, although more additional activities will appear in some locations.
In addition, Ubisoft will completely remove all episodes that took place in the offices of the Abstergo corporation in modern times.
The insider also reported that the Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag remake will include mechanics related to weather effects taken from the game Assassin's Creed Shadows.
When to expect
Rumor has it, the remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag may be released by the end of March 2026.
