Uber is installing special kiosks for ordering rides without a mobile app. The first such terminal appeared in Terminal C of LaGuardia Airport in New York, but the company plans to expand to other airports, hotels, and ports in the coming months.

What is known

Kiosks allow users to select a destination and type of ride, after which the system prints a receipt with the order details. This feature is aimed at travelers from abroad without mobile internet, as well as those whose smartphone is out of battery and cannot be recharged.

The kiosk essentially works as a dispatcher, and the passenger chooses between a ride on Uber or a yellow taxi, guided by waiting time or convenience. Uber already chose LaGuardia Airport as the launch point for its bus route in October 2024, then the company offered rides to Manhattan transport hubs for $18. In March 2025, buses appeared at Kennedy Airport, and now at Newark Airport. Thus, all major New York airports have access to the service.
