Google is launching new features in the Google Photos app that make it easier to edit videos and create vivid clips from important moments. The update is already rolling out on Android, and some features are available on iOS as well.

What is known

Among the innovations are video templates with ready-made music tracks and text overlays. The user selects a template and adds the required photos or videos, and then the app independently edits the clip to the rhythm of the music. You can create such a video in the 'Create' section by clicking 'Video overview'.

The company also updated the video editor. It received a universal timeline showing all clips and other content. The adaptive canvas changes the interface depending on the type of video. Adding text and music to a single clip has become easier.

The updated editor is now the main tool for editing videos on Android. It is also available on iOS.

A music library has also been added for searching for soundtracks for videos. Android device owners can now overlay their own texts on videos with a choice of fonts, colors, and backgrounds.
