Yesterday, December 12, sales of the foldable Galaxy Z TriFold smartphone started in South Korea. Despite the solid price of $2400, huge lines formed for Samsung's novelty and the first batch of the gadget sold out instantly.

The Korean manufacturer announced the cost of repairing the TriFold, and these figures indicate that the smartphone should be used very carefully.

What is known

Samsung reported that replacing the internal display of the Galaxy Z TriFold in Korea will cost $1120 (converted from won) - this is the most expensive display in the company's history, which eloquently underscores a simple fact: at this price, you can buy a new Galaxy S25 Ultra.

However, replacing the external screen is ridiculously cheap—only $92.

To reduce the shock to buyers, Samsung agrees to replace the internal screen once at half price, but it will still be over $500, and for that money, you can buy an excellent mid-budget smartphone—such is the arithmetic.

But let's be objective, earlier, Samsung showed how the assembly of the TriFold, its testing, and quality control process takes place, and these shots make it clear that damaging the foldable gadget would be difficult.
