According to media reports, Dell informed its employees about a significant price hike planned for the upcoming week on its laptops and desktop PCs. The price of the devices will increase by tens of percent depending on the configuration.

What is known

A Dell employee working in the sales department stated that the price increase will be "from 10% to 30%" depending on the contract.

Thus, prices for the latest Dell Pro and Pro Max models will rise by $120-230 depending on the memory configuration, and top configurations with 128 GB of memory will become $520-765 more expensive.

According to industry sources, the price increase is due to a global shortage of DRAM and NAND memory chips caused by a rapid increase in demand for AI servers.

Since the fall of 2025, the prices of components have been increasing weekly by 10–30%, which inevitably affects retail prices. Analysts at TrendForce note that the AI server market has become the main driver of price growth, displacing PC and laptop manufacturers to secondary positions.

Dell warns that the price increase will affect most models, including work and gaming computers. Similar steps are being prepared by competitors, including Lenovo, indicating a systemic crisis in the personal computer industry.

For users, this means that updating equipment in the coming months will become significantly more expensive. Experts predict that the PC market in Europe and the US will face a noticeable decline in demand, and corporate clients will postpone purchases until prices stabilize.
