Nissan launched a free Personalized Sound app in the US for cars with built-in Google services, which adjusts sound based on the driver's individual hearing.

What is known

The app is available on Google Play for Nissan and Infiniti brand models with Google built-in. For initial setup, a three-minute hearing test is required, after which it automatically adjusts the 10-band equalizer in the range from 50 to 1,200 hertz. The system supports several profiles: settings are loaded when selecting the driver profile or using the linked key.

According to the company, the application was developed in less than 18 months, and 96% of internal testers preferred to leave personal settings on. Nissan emphasizes that one of the goals was to increase accessibility, as there are about 36 million people with hearing impairments in the US.

Among compatible Nissan models are Rogue (starting from the 2024 model year), Murano (from 2025), Armada (from 2025), and Leaf (2026 model year). Infiniti support is provided for QX80 (from 2025), QX60 (from 2026), and the future QX65 model.

Currently, Personalized Sound optimizes sound for Bluetooth sources and the car's built-in media system. Compatibility expansion is planned for 2026.
