The Disney+ streaming service has officially launched on Meta Quest virtual reality headsets. The announcement took place earlier this year at the Meta Connect event, and now the app and its entire library are available to Quest users in the United States.
What is known
Together with this, Meta has updated the entertainment experience in Horizon OS. The new Horizon TV hub unites streaming platforms in a single interface and adds support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Disney+ premium subscribers can watch selected films with Dolby Atmos sound, as well as in Dolby Vision 4K HDR format.
The Disney catalog already has over 100 movies available in 4K UHD and HDR quality. Part of the Marvel and Pixar content also supports the extended IMAX aspect ratio.
The app is available on the latest version of Horizon OS. For now, the service works only for users in the United States, but Meta promises an international launch soon.
