Netflix expands format: Video podcasts will appear on the platform by 2026

In 2026, Netflix will begin streaming video podcasts thanks to a partnership with iHeartMedia. The platform will get new episodes of over 15 popular shows, including The Breakfast Club, Dear Chelsea, My Favorite Murder, and others.

In addition to new episodes, Netflix will provide access to archived issues of these podcasts. Video versions of The Breakfast Club and others have long been available on YouTube. The streaming platform is starting to work with the video podcast format, especially for users who listen to content in the background.

This is the company's second such move. Earlier this year, Netflix agreed to broadcast Spotify video podcasts, including The Bill Simmons Podcast and The Zach Lowe Show.

Video podcasts are gradually becoming a new trend for streaming services. For example, Disney+ began broadcasting The Rich Eisen Show on weekdays, also focusing on viewers' background content consumption.
