AMD introduced the new Radeon RX 9060 XT LP graphics card with reduced power consumption while maintaining the same features
AMD unexpectedly introduced another graphics card in the Radeon RX 9000 series, which in terms of technical specifications is almost identical to the RX 9060 XT 16GB, but has an important feature.
What is known
The model is named Radeon RX 9060 XT LP (Low Power) and its main advantage compared to the base version is reduced power consumption (TDP): instead of 180W — 140W.
The manufacturer does not explain how they achieved the reduced power consumption. Performance is claimed to be 25 TFLOPS, while the standard model is 25.6 TFLOPS. And since calculations show that the GPU frequency of the Radeon RX 9060 XT LP is about 80 MHz lower than that of the Radeon RX 9060 XT at 16GB, this is clearly not enough to save 40W of power.
The new model has already been released in China. Information about it has already appeared on the global AMD website, so it is expected to appear in other regions soon.
