The brutal roguelike action Jötunnslayer: Hordes of Hel became the first game in the Epic Games Store Christmas giveaway

The next stage of the annual Christmas mega-promotion from the Epic Games Store has begun. For a week, everyone could get Hogwarts Legacy for free, and now the giveaways will be updated daily and the first game was Jötunnslayer: Hordes of Hel.

What is known

Until the evening of December 19, everyone can get a dark isometric game stylistically reminiscent of Diablo 4, but from a gameplay perspective more similar to one of the main indie hits of recent years — Vampire Survivors.

Jötunnslayer: Hordes of Hel left early access in September 2025 and received excellent reviews from gamers.

The game is based on images from Scandinavian mythology, and thanks to this, Jötunnslayer: Hordes of Hel looks as atmospheric as Diablo 4 but does not copy it. It is a dynamic roguelike action with survival elements, a dark style, and numerous features to help fight hordes of bloodthirsty demons.
