Dynabook introduced the first laptop on Snapdragon with up to 28 hours of battery life

The Japanese company Dynabook has released its first laptop based on the Snapdragon processor. The model is called XD5 and is already available for sale in Japan.

What is known

Dynabook XD5 is equipped with an 8-core Snapdragon X Plus chip (X1P-42-100) with a maximum frequency of up to 3.4 GHz. The configuration includes 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD. The chip's NPU provides up to 45 TOPS for local AI tasks.

The weight of the laptop is 974 g. It is equipped with a 14-inch 1920×1200 (TFT LCD) display and a removable lithium-polymer battery. Claimed battery life is up to 28 hours in standby mode and up to 16 hours of video playback.

The laptop has two USB4 ports, two USB-A (5 Gbps), HDMI 2.1 (TMDS), Ethernet (1 Gbps), a microSD slot, and a combined audio jack. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 are supported.

Dynabook XD5 comes with Dolby Atmos support, a physical webcam shutter, and the "Dynabook Smartphone Connection" feature for smartphone connectivity. Case dimensions: 312.4 × 222.5 × 18.7 – 18.9 mm.

The cost of the laptop in Japan is 219,780 yen (~1400 USD) for the 16/512 GB version.
