Xiaomi introduced Watch 5 — the brand's first "fully intelligent smartwatch" with ultra-durable sapphire glass and two medical sensors

Xiaomi officially announced its new flagship smartwatches, which will debut along with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphone lineup and Buds 6 headphones.

What is known

The model is named Xiaomi Watch 5 and is the brand's most advanced watch.

The watch is built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 platform, manufactured using a 4-nm process and equipped with a Cortex-A53 processor with four cores, providing higher energy efficiency and stable operation in multitasking mode.

The manufacturer claims that these are “fully intelligent watches,” with the main feature being the appearance of two medical sensors: in addition to ECG (electrocardiogram), users are offered EMG (electromyography) for the first time — this technology captures subtle electrical impulses from the wrist muscles and converts hand movements into commands for the watch. It is still unknown how this feature will be implemented, but it sounds interesting.

Of course, there will also be a standard set of functions for tracking workouts, sleep, stress, and other indicators.

The body of the Xiaomi Watch 5 is made of stainless steel, and the screen is protected by sapphire glass with a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale — the highest rating for consumer watches.

When to expect

Xiaomi will hold a large presentation on December 25, where Watch 5 will also be presented.
