TikTok Shop launches digital gift cards in the USA
TikTok Shop has launched a digital gift card feature. Users can purchase cards within the app and send them to other TikTok users. Prices range from $10 to $500. The cards are designed using animated templates for birthdays, weddings, thank yous, and other events.
What is known
Cards are sent via email. To use them, the recipient must have a TikTok account. Once activated, the amount is credited to the TikTok Balance. The recipient can send a response or their own gift card. Similar tools are used in e-commerce, such as on Amazon and eBay.

The feature is currently available only in the USA. According to TikTok, by 2026, it will be possible to add video messages to the card. The company is also working on an interactive element that will capture the recipient's reaction upon opening the card.
The feature was launched during the holiday season. At the end of November, TikTok Shop recorded over $500 million in sales in the USA over four days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.
In case of non-compliance with the requirements to transfer TikTok ownership to an American entity, the app may be blocked. The current deadline is January 23, 2026.
