AFEELA EV will get the PS Remote Play feature, allowing games to be streamed from a home PS5 or PS4 to the car's display
The AFEELA electric car from Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) will support PlayStation Remote Play, allowing games from home PS5 and PS4 consoles to be run directly on the car's built-in screen. The company calls AFEELA the first production car with direct PlayStation Remote Play integration in its onboard infotainment system.
What is known
The feature is designed for use while parking - for example, in a parking lot. SHM envisions that the driver and passengers can play or watch the gameplay using the car's central display and standard audio system without the need to connect a separate screen.
The key limitation remains the speed of the internet connection. According to SHM, Remote Play requires a stable connection of at least 5 Mbps, with at least 15 Mbps recommended. The company warns that the availability of the feature will depend on network conditions, and an unstable connection may lead to delays or session disruptions.
The Remote Play technology runs the game on the home console and streams the video feed to another device, sending control commands back over the internet. In the case of AFEELA, that device becomes the car itself, as PS Remote Play support is built into its multimedia system.
Several practical details are not yet revealed. SHM has not specified how PlayStation account logins will be organized or which controllers will be supported.
For PS5 or PS4 owners, the advantage is obvious: access to their gaming library without the need to transport the console. This solution also fits into SHM's strategy, where AFEELA is promoted as a car with a focus on digital services and in-cabin user experience.
The start of AFEELA 1 deliveries is scheduled for 2026. Then it will become clear how stable PS Remote Play will work in real conditions.
