Media: In Mid-2026 Asus Will Launch Its Own RAM Module Production
The global RAM shortage that erupted in the fall of 2025 prompted most technology companies to radically revise their strategies: some are raising product prices, some, like Micron, are completely exiting the consumer market and refocusing on working with AI data centers, while others see new opportunities in the situation and begin independently manufacturing the necessary components.
What is known
The Iranian publication Sakhtafzarmag shared exclusive information that Asus will launch the production of its own RAM modules.
According to sources, the company plans to enter this market by the end of the second quarter of 2026, for which new production lines are currently being opened.
Importantly, Asus will produce not memory chips, but modules, and therefore will not be able to completely eliminate dependence on its key partners—Samsung, Micron, and Hynix. However, this step will significantly increase the company's autonomy and reduce supply chains. In the future, it will be easier for Asus to equip its computers with RAM, and it will also be significantly cheaper.
