LG is preparing a revolution in gaming monitors: impressive new UltraGear evo series announced

LG is not going to give up its title as one of the world's leaders in the gaming monitor segment and is preparing to surprise the public with three new models that will be showcased at the largest exhibition CES 2026.

What is known

In its press release, LG announced that in 2026, the innovative UltraGear evo gaming monitors will debut.

The main novelty will be the UltraGear evo GM9 (27GM950B) - the world's first 5K monitor with MiniLED backlighting with 2304 local dimming zones. It will feature a 27” IPS panel with a frequency of 165 Hz and the ability to increase the frequency to 330 Hz, but only by lowering the resolution to QHD. The peak brightness of this model will be 1250 nits.

The UltraGear evo GX9 (39GX950B) model will also offer groundbreaking features - it's the world's first "5K2K" OLED monitor. Its main feature will be AI upscaling, which will automatically enhance the original 2K image to 5K without loss of quality.

GX9 will feature a 39” OLED panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a curvature radius of 1500R.

The third novelty will be another ultra-wide monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 5K2K resolution, but with a gigantic diagonal of 52", and it's also the first model of its kind in the world.

The CES 2026 exhibition will be held from January 6 to 9 in Las Vegas.
