Antarctica, casino, and a vain antagonist — important setting details for BioShock 4 revealed
The long-awaited new part of BioShock continues to be in development hell, and publisher Take-Two is not sharing any information, limiting itself to assurances that the game "will be a worthy continuation of the legendary franchise".
Portal MP1st shared exclusive information about BioShock 4, which sheds some light on the plot and setting of the shooter.
What is known
The editors of MP1st confirmed long-standing leaks that the events of BioShock 4 will unfold in an alternative 1960s Antarctica.
The main location in the game will be the city of Borealis (Borealis), and one of the important locations will be Solaria (or Solaris), whose inhabitants will play an important role in the plot of BioShock 4. They may belong to the "privileged elite" or form a full-fledged faction with their own ideals and goals.
An important location will be a certain casino, where a battle with one of the bosses might take place. Insiders confirmed that "ADAM" — a stem cell-derived substance that gives people supernatural abilities, but causes strong addiction and can be used as a hard drug — will return in BioShock 4.
MP1st includes images of several assets, the most notable of which is a "golden" statue, likely dedicated to the main antagonist of BioShock 4.
Even approximate release dates for the shooter are unknown, as in 2025 its development was almost restarted. In August, the studio Cloud Chamber was headed by an experienced crisis manager and former Diablo franchise head Rod Fergusson, who repeatedly rescued the most problematic projects. We hope that the development of BioShock 4 will speed up and soon we will receive official news.
