Don't Expect a ROG Phone in 2026: Asus Temporarily Halts Smartphone Production
In the smartphone market, especially for gaming models, there is one less player — Asus is temporarily halting the production of new models.
What is Known
The first to share the information were Taiwanese retailers, who reported that they could not obtain new smartphone batches from suppliers, and before that, they had heard rumors that the relevant lines would only operate until December 31, 2025.
Soon, Asus representatives stated that the company will continue to fulfill its obligations, release updates, and provide warranty service for smartphones, but does not plan to release new models in 2026. The Asus mobile division will continue to operate and, for now, there is no talk of its liquidation, which allows for the possibility of the Taiwanese company's return to this segment in the future.
It is worth noting that Asus smartphones have never been sales leaders, but they had a certain popularity among gamers.
