Demand is there: foldable Mi Mix Fold helped Xiaomi make more than $61 million in just 1 minute

At the end of March, Xiaomi unveiled its first foldable smartphone, Mi Mix Fold, and the other day it launched its first flash sale in China. And it proved that there is demand for the gadget.

A Brief Digest of Figures

The first batch of Mi Mix Fold in China was sold out in just one minute. As a result, the company earned revenue of 400 million yuan, which is more than $61 million.

Xiaomi does not specify the exact number of smartphones sold, but simple mathematics shows that this is between 30 to 40 thousand gadgets, or about 500 units per second. That's counting the three available versions of the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold: 12/256GB for 9,999 yuan ($1530), 12/512GB for 10,999 yuan ($1680) and 16/512GB for 12,999 yuan ($2,000).

As a reminder, all versions feature dual AMOLED displays, a Snapdragon 888 processor and a main camera with a liquid lens - a first in a smartphone.

It is not yet known when the flagship will go on sale again or when it will hit the global market.
