It looks like Samsung has abandoned the release of the cute assistant robot Ballie
Surely many of us remember the cute assistant robot Ballie from Samsung, which the company introduced back in 2020. It was an integral part of CES exhibitions, but it did not appear at the 2026 event.
Against the backdrop of the December announcement on the indefinite delay of Ballie's release, experts reasonably suggested that the Korean manufacturer had abandoned the idea of releasing the smart yellow sphere.
Samsung representatives gave a comment to Bloomberg, in which no specific answer was given.
What is Known
It was previously stated that the development team continues to improve Ballie to add more features and enhance the functionality of the robot. Now there is an even more convoluted wording, according to which Ballie is an "active innovative platform" that helps Samsung work on other technological solutions, including smart home devices and spatial interaction systems.
However, journalists still did not receive an answer as to whether Ballie will enter the consumer market. Such deeply veiled formulations may mean one thing: the cute robot will still remain a concept.
Recall, Ballie is a home assistant robot. It was created in collaboration with Google and received support from AI Gemini, which allows the device to communicate with the owner, provide advice and tips. With the projector Ballie displays text messages on the wall and also has a microphone, camera, and speaker.
The gadget can control the "Smart Home" via Samsung SmartThings.
