The reputable insider Ice Universe shared interesting information about one of the upcoming Xiaomi smartphones.

According to him, the Chinese company will follow the example of its competitor — Huawei — and release a gadget with its own chipset, operating system, and specially developed generative AI.

What is known

Ice Universe states that with this decision, Xiaomi wants to reduce its dependence on Qualcomm chipsets and Google's OS.

Recall, Huawei successfully implemented such a strategy: the corporation created a universal operating system HarmonyOS for all its devices, a series of Kirin processors, and integrated the unique AI assistant Celia.

It is known about the new Xiaomi smartphone that it will receive the XRING 02 chipset, created using TSMC's 3 nm process technology, and will be able to run generative AI locally, without connecting to cloud services. The ambitious Xiaomi smartphone debut is expected in the second half of 2026.
