YouTube has introduced new features to expand parental controls.

The platform received an update that allows parents to limit Shorts viewing for their children.

What is Known

Now the parental control menu includes an option that allows selecting viewing time for Shorts per day — from 15 minutes to two hours, and in the future, it will be possible to completely block short videos by setting a limit of 0 minutes. Only parents can change the setting.

Also, YouTube is expanding control over content accessible to children and teenagers. Soon, the account registration process will be updated, allowing parents to create new children's accounts and switch between them depending on who is using YouTube.
