Analysts are confident in a significant price increase for AMD and Intel processors. So far, only server ones
The global price increase of all high-tech components widely used in modern electronic devices continues. After memory chips, storage devices and graphics cards, processors from AMD and Intel may be the next to increase in price.
What is known
Keybanc analysts have information that AMD and Intel will raise prices for their CPUs by 10-15% this quarter. Fortunately, the price increase will only affect server processors for now, as the demand for them has dramatically increased amid rapid AI technology development and increased AI data center needs. It is known that most of AMD and Intel’s server processor production capacities have already been sold for 2026.
Consumer processors will not become more expensive for now, but the market situation is so unpredictable that such a step doesn’t seem impossible.
Recall, recently Samsung's co-CEO TM Roh gave a grim forecast that the global memory shortage will affect almost all consumer electronics sectors, from smartphones to refrigerators, and this scenario is becoming increasingly realistic.
