The HBO film company continues to expand the Game of Thrones franchise. After the extremely controversial finale of the main series, viewers saw the prequel House of the Dragon, and today, January 18th, HBO Max will premiere A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the events of which will unfold 90 years before the main saga's plot and tell the story of knight Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg — the future king Aegon V Targaryen.

However, there is news in the media about the start of work on another series set in George Martin's universe.

What is known

According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO plans to release a Game of Thrones sequel, with Arya Stark as the main character, and Maisie Williams will return to her role.

Recall that in the finale of the eighth season, the girl said goodbye to her relatives and comrades and set off on a solo voyage. It is assumed that in the new series she will reach the continent of Essos.

According to journalists, the script is being written by Quoc Dang Tran, who worked on the series Drops of God for Apple TV.

The work on the Arya Stark series is at a very early stage and it cannot be ruled out that it may face the fate of the Jon Snow project, which was abandoned because the screenwriters did not see eye to eye with the lead actor Kit Harington.
