Elon Musk announced on X that Tesla is restarting the development of Dojo3 — the third generation of the proprietary supercomputer. The project is designed to process video and other data from Tesla vehicles to train the neural network of the Full Self-Driving system.

What is Known

In 2025, the Dojo team was disbanded. The company focused efforts on creating automotive chips Tesla AI5 and AI6. Now that the development of AI5 is complete, Tesla is returning to Dojo.

The mentioned AI-based chips are designed to work directly in the car but are not optimized for training large models. Samsung in Texas will handle the production of AI6 under a $16 billion contract.

Musk also hinted that Dojo3 might be related to "space computing". Such a concept could theoretically allow more efficient cooling of equipment and powering it with solar energy. However, details of such plans have not yet been disclosed.
